Remove all contents from the I Grobot box and take apart the two porcelain pieces that comprise the top (planter) and bottom (legs) of your I Grobot. Place the planter top on the legs and you are ready to go. You will find two peat pucks and a packet of grass seeds inside.

Place the peat pucks inside the planter and add warm water halfway up the planter bowl. Let it sit five minutes to soften the dried peat. Take a fork and break up the peat pucks. Let it sit another five minutes to soften further, stir the peat soil, and add your grass seeds according to package directions.

What makes the I Grobot grow?

The magic of the I Grobot is the magic of mother nature. There is nothing “alive” or “automatic” about the I Grobot. The I Grobot is just a clever planter for starting grass seeds. It simply contains seeds and a dried potting mixture.

How long does it take to grow?

In general, seeds will germinate and sprout with grass in 2 weeks approximately. Keep your I Grobot moist and warm during that time and keep the planter in sunlight. Plants should be good size in 3-4 weeks.

What do I do if my I Grobot is not growing?

Just like in nature many factors play into seeds successfully germinating. At first, the two most important factors are warmth and water. It is very important that your I Grobot is placed in an environment with a temperature of 60 degrees or warmer (actually warmer is better, ideally 70 to 80 degrees is OK). Warmth triggers the seeds to start to germinate as if it is spring. If your I Grobot dries out, then the delicate germination process may be disrupted.

How much Sunlight does my I Grobot need?

Once the seedling appears above the soil’s surface, your I Grobot should receive two to four hours of good sunlight each day. Before the seedling appears, it is not necessary to have full sunlight.

How much water does my I Grobot need?

The thirsty I Grobot drinks a lot. Water it every day if the peat soil is dry to the touch. Do not drown the I Grobot, however.

How long can my I Grobot last?

Your I Grobot can last up to 6 weeks, if you care for it. You may trim the grass and it will continue to grow. Do not cut the grass more than half down or you risk killing it.

Is the I Grobot guaranteed?

Everything has been done to ensure your success in growing your I Grobot— the product is manufactured to the highest standards using superior seeds and peat mixture. But the product is not guaranteed to grow. If it does not work at first, put some of the extra seeds into the planter and give it another try. You can grow any seed type for grass or herbs in your I Grobot!

What kind of grass will grow and is it cat grass?

Like our Nyokki Pet Plants, the I Grobot grows Rye Grass. Rye Grass is the same grass found in many lawns. This is NOT the same as cat grass (which is wheat grass) from the pet store, so do not feed it to pets and DO NOT EAT it.
