What is the difference between a Nyokki and an Eggling?

A Nyokki is a colorful character with little legs and an open top. The Eggling is all white and you crack its top to reveal the seeds and peat mixture. You do not crack the Nyokki’s top.

What does the Nyokki grow?

The Nyokki grows rye grass. The same kind of grass you find in lawns everywhere.

Do not eat it. It is not wheat grass!

How do I make my Nyokki grow?

The Nyokki requires water and sunlight. You should see in the top of your Nyokki a mesh material filled with seeds and white beads. Moisten the seeds by sprinkling or misting water on top of them. Do not fill the Nyokki with water. It will get moldy if you do. By sprinkling or misting the Nyokki a couple times a day, you will be giving it just the right amount of water to be healthy. The Nyokki should have two to four hours of bright sunlight every day. Make sure you have the Nyokki in a spot that is at least 60 degrees at all times. Remember more light and heat will mean you will need to water your Nyokki more.

What is inside the Nyokki?

Inside are rye grass seeds wrapped in fabric mesh with some beads made of wood pulp. These biogradable, non-toxic beads have good liquid absorption and hold the moisture needed for the seed to grow.

How long will it take my Nyokki to grow?

Under normal conditions, the Nyokki will begin to show sprouts within one week and will have a full head of grass hair within 2 to 3 weeks.

How long will my Nyokki grow?

Your Nyokki can last up to 6 weeks, if you care for it. You may cut the Nyokki’s hair and style. It will grow again! Do not cut the grass more than half down.

What do I do when my Nyokki stops growing?

Cut the remaining grass off the top of the Nyokki. Now, cut the mesh fabric that holds the seeds inside the Nyokki. Pull it out with the seeds and beads. Rinse your Nyokki out and use it to hold change, paper clips, or other small things.
